Fellow citizens and countrymen of the Republic, friends and loved ones. It is with great joy, expectation and excitement that it can be announced that the Swellendam Republic of 1795 exists once more.

​The flag pole that once stood at 25 Swellengrebel Street is once again, proudly across the Drostdy which is one of the oldest in South Africa.

​This setting is open for one and all, for young and old, short and tall, truly for the diversity that make South Africa great. We proudly announce the Republic of Swellendam, everyone’s place and a place for everyone.

​From a cold refreshment (oorlam) to something for the belly. It’s the joy of good company and a friendly place that is the values of a prospering Republic.

Underneath the old Oaks is where friendships are born en strengthened. The Republic is for one and all.
